Hi i am new to all of this and i was wondering if my idea would work im planning on buying a myco bag and using a B+ strain in it and keeping it in my room i just have a few questions. One is this a good strain or are there others that would be better for a beginner? Two do they let off any kind of foul odor that would stink up my room? three what kind of light if any is necessary? and finally how long is cultivation time and how do you flush?
Please help and thank you in advance
Mike
also any other info you feel i may need would be greatly appreciated

nope.

any light will work, the cheaper you spend, the smarter you are.

I would go GT or pesa. B+ are good but have never do good in mycobags, as least from what I have seen.

Well cultivation time depends a little bit on the strain, but more importanly what conditions, such as temp, light/dark, how well you care for them etc.
A flush is not something you do, the first flush describes essentially the first fruits or first harvest of mushrooms you will have. No experience with mycorbags, but with PF style cakes or a casing of some sort you can expect to receive multiple flushes.
After the first harvest, the mycelium will go into a short vegitative cycle where it gets ready to fruit again. This goes back to what I said about time, depending on how well you study and how well you follow the teks, the time to get your total harvest will vary (as well as possibly the weight).
There is a ton of info on this site outside of the message boards, so use that and also the message board search.
Feel free to ask any other questions too.....

PF style cakes are very easy. Also, if you have an oven and a pharmacy nearby, making spore syringes is really easy too. So you can get spore prints for really cheap.

Blue Meanie is a quick colonizer and to me, very potent. Good for starters. PF was too much work for me. I had to go the the store and grind the rice in a coffee grinder, so I switched to rye grain. I think that has better results.

watch out! there are two different species that get called 'blue meanie' these days (unfortunately ) - the name always was used to refer to panaeolus cyanascens, but there is also a strain of pilocybe cubensis (a less potent species than pan cyan) that goes by this nickname. i'm against it, caues confusion, probably started to mislead people. may as well call a cube strain 'liberty cap' or 'wavy wap' or even 'fly', doesn't make it change species from ps. cubensis.
still, ps cubensis is by far the easiest active mushroom to start with.
