You cannot grow mescaline. You CAN grow mescaline containing cacti.
Using Trichocereus Pachanoi, 12" of it is usually considered a dose.

Grow your own, that's the way to do it. The quickest way is to take a cutting of an existing plant and root it. The next quickest is to grow from seed. That's also the cheapest way. Everyone should have some pedros growing. You can take them in during the winter if you get a lot of freezing. I have plenty of extra pedro seed if anyone wants to swap for it.

Agreed. Everyone should have pedro growing. Or bridgesii, which is better still. It generally has much more mescaline than pachanoi. I must plant some...

if you want my 2 cents plant them now. if your going from seed or cutting. get it started now so it can grow decent in the warmer months of next year. get a good root base going and such.

Should I grow them outside or on a window? Winter is right around the corner.

Side question... when is a good time to extract from the plant and injest it?

Get a cutting or two off ebay and wait for about 5 years to let em grow nice an big. Also you can look into peyote seeds and graft them onto other faster grwoing cacti. You can grow indoors under floros for winer or at a window and if its warm out put em outside where they can bask in the sun and grow big.

Check out muhmush.com they have a great cacti section that goes over grafting and seeding raising. And the wait is well worth it but you can just buy extra cuttigs and only root a few. But i have no idea wht you would do with extra cuttings

I've heard people say and read people say that 6 inches of cacti is enough to trip or even plenty to trip on. But then other times I read 12-16 inches of cacti being a dose. Which is a normal dose?

12" of average potency, average thickness (say 3" or so) is a good dose to start with. Low end of the spectrum usually.

M.S. Smith said so on the Nook, and he knows his cacti!

"I am personally convinced that T. bridgesii has a higher and more consistent concentration of mescaline than almost any cultivated L. williamsii, and in fact is exceeding 400mg of mescaline in 15 grams as I described above (without vasuclar core or tissue within it). T. pachanoi has nothing on T. bridgesii. As for T. peruvianus, well the identification issue is still one that leaves much to be desired."
