Mushrooms found need ID
    #3115506 - 09/09/04 09:20 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Im hoping I got something active here Im not sure. I found these today in bermuda/normal grass at the edge of a huge field in the shade.

The ones in the bright picture are the same ones on the left side of the first picture.

The fatter ones look somewhat like young cubensis and Im not sure about the little ones. The little ones were found in a group of about 50 and are about 3-4in. tall. There stems are really skinny and seem to fade white to brown going from the top to bottom. Both species bruise black. The little ones after about 30mins. The fatter species bruise within 5mins. I only found 3 of the fat ones.

Since the gills are white, there is a good chance that the spores are also white.. try on a dark colored paper. If that doesnt work, you may have dry specimens. Collect some more or try adding a drop or two of water to the caps to help them drop spores.
