I would have just posted the article, no need to even explicitly compare hitler to bush or any other analysis. just reading that article by itself was insane how close it was to the repub convention.

You and G_S both need to re-read the rules.
That was, in fact, flaming.
Zappa's post was not BTW in case anyone thinks they're going to be able to hide behind that or some thing.

these people are right wing:

notice how I don't necessarly say, "right wing people," because I don't judge people's characters or even them as people based on their political belief, like some people...

Don't waste the sharks time with insults. And if you insult someone, make it original. Get banned for good reason. When I get thrown in the can, I want it to be a show stopper!
I don't think that the Nazi party is going to take over America. I don't think any country in the history of the world has the record of exporting freedom that America has. Sure we have made mistakes, who hasn't? For the first time in the history of mankind, over half the world lives under governments of their own choosing. No one nation can claim more credit than Uncle Sam and the stars and stripes baby!
Cue the music...
God Bless America, Land That I Love, Stand Beside Her, And Guide Her, Thru The Night With A Light From Above. From The Mountains, To The Prairies, To The Oceans, White With Foam GOD BLESS AMERICA MY HOME SWEET HOME!
Ok, that was gay.
Ancalagon is as passionate about his political party as any man in this forum. But here he is posting a well articulated attack on the dangers of being passionate about a political party. The article is thought provoking, but I don't buy it. We were attacked by terrorists repeatedly before 9-11. They had declared war on us and our way of life. At some point you have to sack up and do something about. Pick up a gun and stand a post. Otherwise step aside and let real men defend this country.
God Bless America. Land that I love. And fuck the people that want us dead.

Nor do I. However, do you deny that we are losing the principles of liberty and freedom this nation was founded on at an alarming rate?

Do you sincerely believe it is moral for the United States to 'export Democracy?' Whatever our 'success' rate may be(where have we succeeded besides Germany and Japan?), it is GROSSLY immoral to force our system of government upon another people, ESPECIALLY via war(as all our 'exportation' is done).

Do you think George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would have been pleased if in 1774 the French sent an armada to the United States, overthrew the British presence in North America, killed several thousand innocent Americans in the process, and established what they felt was the correct form of government for us? Oh, and to ensure we don't fall out of place, so to speak, they kept a few dozen Garrisons in each American state.

I am passionate about the principles of libertarianism, not neccesarily the L(capital)ibertarian Party. At the moment, I happen to agree with a great many of their positions(though not all) and their underlying philosophy. I bear no alleigance to the party in and of itself and the moment they strayed or compromised their principles I would disconnect myself quite fast.

Libertarians are not against defending our country and very few Libertarians(the irrational ones) were against a military response to the deplorable attacks of September 11th. However, a logical person should look at all sides of an issue. The fact of the matter is, IN PART(at the very least...) the scum that carried out the attacks against our country were who they were because of previous US action. The United States has been intervening in the Arab world for a good(or bad...) half-century now and it does not take a genius to figure out that when one takes sides in a conflict one makes an enemy of the other side. US Middle-East policy has been a history of such actions. I need not go through the list that has been run through many times of US Military Adventurism in the Arab World over the past fifty years but to deny that those actions have made us enemies is to shut your eyes to reality. Whatever your position on the Israel-Palestine situation, you must see that our overwhelming support of Israel angers the 'Arab Street' greatly. Israel is perfectly capable of defending herself and she will not be pushed into the sea if we stop giving her our money and weapons.

Sucks for them.
I'm not afraid, and I have no sympathy for anyone who is, and is willing to allow the deaths of other innocent people to increase their own saftey.

Is it moral for the US to recognize any government that does not represent it's people?

The United States government does not represent all of its people, should it not recognize itself? Where would you take this question by the way? I believe in non-interventionist foreign policy as advised by Jefferson, "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations -- entangling alliances with none."
