RYE QUESTIONS..

hi everyone , hes thinking in washing the rye for a minute to take out the dirty stuff and then to let the rye soak for 24 hours.

Should he still use110 grs of water for 100grs of rye ??? or should he start the sterilization process with the water that the rye absorbed in the process of soaking (taking out the excess of that water)???

soak the grain for 24 hrs, simmer the grain for 30 mins, pressure cook it at 15psi for one our. easy stuff

thanks..so he doesnt have to use the water/rye proportion?? should he take out the excess of water after soaking ?? or after simmering??

Strain between each step. No worries about proportion. Simmering adds the water. Check out magash's grain tek. It owns.

If you soak and simmer , then not.

There are 2 approaches:

Soak, simmer, strain, pressure cook
OR
measure the correct amounts of water and rye and pressure cook.

Use whatever fits you. I personally use the second method more often.
