Big PC's and hot plates !

Hmm.. i'm shopping for a PC and i'd like to get my hands on a fairly big one.. something that could fit 12 or so quart jars would be cool...
Now.
I have a ceramic top stove and i really don't want to fuck it up.. so i'm thinking Hot plate....
anyone got info on them, can they handle the weight, what can i expect to have to pay for one etc. ???
I'd like an electric one.. but a propane one is possible if an Alum PC can handle it.
I have an old antique one right now, but it really needs to retire..

I have several I can dig out of storage. I find two of the same height work very well, if I have a couple of 600-750 watter (same height) would you be interested? I also have a dual element apartment tabletop stove that i'll trade real cheap $15+ shipping. I trashed the wifes stove with my huge AC-LAB sterilizer huge as in my 921 fits inside of it (with handles removed) with room to spare! Anyway PM me if interested. Also I have a large Mirro (holds 7qt. jars) and a smaller Mirro (holds 4 qt. jars) that I'd get rid of very cheap also to you, then you could use the wifes stove! PM me if interested.

I picked up a dual burner ceramic element model at walmart a few years ago and had no problem using an AA921 on a single burner...

what would you say the minimum requirement of wattage of one hot plate to get 15 psi?
for a small/medium sized pc.

i'd say maintaining pressure would be easily done, but getting up to pressure might take a while on a small plate.. a 1kw plate would have no problem at all i'm sure.
What's a stove top element consume kw/h ???
120v hot plate vs 240v stove tho..

Just get one the right size. It should be about the size of the larger burners on a standard stove and it will work fine.
One handy thing about using those is that you can use a timer to shut off the PC... No more waking up to exploding jars...

600 watt will work fine for a smaller PC. A 1k will handle most PC's. I've used two 750's under my AC-LAB sterilizer with perfect results and great fine tuning. I also have a two burner electric table top stove for trade very cheap, I'll pull them out of storage tomorrow and take some pics for ya maybe, see what ya think?
