Well, I'm going to continue to learn. I figure I'll ask some questions I have, practice with edible mushrooms, and learn new teks. Then when Ic an start back up I'll be pro. Something I've been wanting to ask for a while now though... if I have a completely colonized rye jar, how long can it stay in the incubator before I have to use it? Before trashing it all I had a jar 100% colonized for about 4 days and wanted to wait about 6 more days and then use it in G2G transfers. Is that a bad idea?

Everything I say on this board is a lie.

Eat more string cheese. It's good for you.

6 days will only help. Most people are way too eager to get the cakes out of the jars.....

no you should be fine, longer though and i would put it in a dark cool place like the fridge or basement.it can stay that way for a long time.I actually use to leave mine incubating for 5 or6days after they "looked"100% colonized, anyway so that i was sure that they were colonized all the way through. Now that was with PF jars but same thing. The myc will be stronger and more established.

Butternut squash are softer than acorn or other types of squash, which makes them easier to cut and prepare.
