Hike in the woods....possible Laughing Gyms?( with pics)
    #3108429 - 09/08/04 04:20 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

OKay it was rainy today in my town, but i went out to hunt anyway. There were some of what looked like aminitas, i saw some destroying angels (they were delicious..hehe)...but I found what i THINK to be Gyms. (Sorry guys i really have to learn to use my damn camera...i suck)

This is the pic of them as babies yesterday...

Today I went back to the spot i saw these babies at yesterday, and they were soggy from all the rain we've been gettin...the caps were realll slimy. Also, they weren't a bright orange. Did i pick them prematurely...and are they even gyms? (This is them drying)

sorry my pics suck!

I'm guessing Pholiota due to the slimy caps and general overall appearance. I do not believe any species of Gymnopilus has slimy caps.
