Maybe the problem is the gas exchange. Do you have polyfill on your lid? No it doesn't take so much

Millet is not slow atall. If anything its faster.

By the sounds of it, its either too dry or contaminated or in a poor environment temperature wise. Could be gas exchange but less likely.

well its got pollyfill for the lid but the temp is room temp and it could be dry. are their any techs that specificly define how much whater to use. i just boiled the millet and used the water it absobed so that could be the problem. i dont think its the temp. ive used this temp for rice flower before. i bet its the water

Millet is as fast or at least very close to rye in terms of times. Millet should be done if starting from spore in two weeks three tops. (Quart jars)

Millet IME takes a bit longer which I believe is because of it small structure. I've done plenty of both and have observed growth, the nice thing with WBS is availability along with cost made for some awesome bulk grows. Pound for pound WBS is much more heavy and I've found less WBS is needed compared to rye also I've gotten more flushes in general from WBS than from rye. IME

IME stuffing the polyfill too tightly causes jars to stall, particularly if they're filled too much.

Millet often stalls like this and refuses to completely colonise IME. Try filling the jars less full. Millet is too sweet to be optimal IMHO. Rye works a lot better.

yes play around with the moisture content untill it's perfect...then the speed will come
this is what kramer does:
he soaks 7pints of millet in 6-7pints of HOT water overnite(12-24hours) he then mixes 2-3 pints of dry verm in (whatever is needed to soak up remaining water)
loads 1/2 pint jars with dry verm layer and pc
he uses 1 innoc point in the middle(lazy fuck!)
he just checked his last batch( he used less than 1/2cc per innoc.) and it is doin fine ...the interesting thing doing it this way is that the bottom of the jars is where you see the growth first...and jars took from 3-4 weeks doing this way when he first started, but now 2 weeks
and he either dunks and rolls to the pmp or spawns some poo
hope this helps  :yesnod: :gd_icon: :nut: :stoned:
