That's a good question. As far as the answer goes, I've got no clue. Weilii seem to vary in potency from location to location.
As far as me eating them goes... I've just never had an opportune time or place to eat them. I don't like to trip if the setting isn't perfect. Eating mushrooms is much more to me than just getting high... It's a learning experience and a self exploration tool. Not something I can(or want) to do frequently. Mushrooms aren't something that I could ever see being abused.

I agree with you totally there. I think that there is much to benefit from in the world of mushrooms. It can be a positive time consuming hobby and learning experience if you take the right approach.

sorry to derail this thread once again... but YES amanitas are eatable... All I was saying is the effects are NOT desirable, and I hardly hear any positive things about it... Might as well get drunk , and not risk an OD...

phishhead said: 3 to 6 is prime, but it could be in ones newer and older than that as well just not as abundant.
I will agree with the abundancy... new hoods= small fruitings... Sometimes a lone weilii is all I get.
I have confirmed Weilii in a neighborhood 4 years old , breaking the ' 5 year rule' that SO many people go by.. I would imagine they could even fruit after 1-2 years...
I will say though... The weilii in the new neighborhoods(3-5) are less potent(IMO) and they take a different form then say an 8-10 year old neighborhood. The newer ones have less wavy caps, more light brown color, and tend to have long stems and smaller caps( in ratio, I have seen 'big' caps from a new neighborhood, but nothing like old ones) The old neighborhood weilii get these thick stems, almost fat sometimes, shorter stem length, more brown color on the cap, more potency, larger caps, ect..
Now, this is all speculation I am sure it varies...
This is the problem with weilii... so much conflicting information you wonder if these truly ARE the magic mushrooms, or just rumors : )
good luck, we got some rain today( not much)

o.k i still haven't found any weilii and i consider myself infatuated with these mushrooms. a friend keeps hooking me up so i do get them i just cant find them myself. the last few he gave me i thumped the spores into a glass of water and poured it in a pine straw area in my yard i threw a cap in and churned it up real good. its been about 2-weeks and after today's rain there is white mycelia all over the spot where i did this. its the only mycelia in the whole area. do you think i could have some shrooms soon??

Hey, I've been picking and ingesting psilocybes I pick in Dahlonega for the last 6 years, sent 2 collections to Guzman, he says their very close to atlantis, macro and microscopically. I think he's full of shit, and is so overwhelmed by the new species coming out of N GA., that he wants to lump them into two taxona, either weilii, or atlantis. As far as I know their neither weilii, nor atlantis. Could it be just another strain of either of the two, or what? And tell me what the fuck there doing up in Dahlonega!

If that worked, i would be highly highly suprised. Any pics. that would be pretty cool if you could do that haha. I would have a whole backyard full of little weilii boys.

As soon as a good rain starts in the spring, and the lows are in the sixties, they fruit in abundance especially after a very heavy rain of 2 or 3 days or more, up until the first frost of the season.

Sorry, when I first realized they where psilocybes they were fruiting in a rank fescue lawn, recently I've been gathering them in the burn pit from the refuse of this same named lawn. Red clay and lignicolus. Some collections from the same site are readily hygrophanous on drying, while others always stay a deep blue/green on drying, as far as I know, after ingesting as little as 2g, they'll almost put you over the brink, ya know, with the daemonic entities, and other weird shit like that.

theyve been found all the way up to tennessee so there is a good chance it is a weilii or an atlantis. they all look very different from place to place so its not uncommon for the ones ur finding to look completely different than the ones we are finding but im no expert and this is speculation as well...

Look, you people need to excercise caution. Shrooms aren't for crackheads! I have found around 2 dozen species that resemble weilii in various stages of growth. Most do not stain blue. Most are found in mixed hard/pine woods. When dry they might appear bluish and could be mistaken for this mushroom.
You should respect the fungi as there are more species of it on earth than any other living organism. There are probably millions of species still undiscovered out there. Fungi are everywhere, you just don't see most of it.
