No information on weilii's???
    #3103787 - 09/07/04 05:00 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

How come field guides dont contain any information on psilocybe weilii's? I just bought 3 field guides(as many have suggested to do when identifying) but none have anything on weilii. Does it go by another name? This mushroom seems to be farely popular so I dont understand why I cant find info on it.

Thanks for the link now I know where to find them. What about lookalikes and things of that nature. Anything to look out for that might make me sick?

There are a few lookalikes but none will turn blueish green so its not that dangerous to misidentify.

Nice, sounds easy enough! Just wondering...you ever looked for weilii's(or any actives for that matter) in the lake lanier area(hall, gwinnett)? Any good finds?

They're not in any field guides for a few reasons:
1. They weren't discovered untill 1995
2. They only grow in Georgia
3. They're not all that common

As far as the Hall/Gwinnett area goes, they fruit very abundantly there as long as you find the right places. All of my patches are in Gwinnett.

theyre pretty common when you find a general location. Pretty damn common indeed. Some places just don't have any weilii but others have more than you can pick.
