Quick Fanning Question
    #3102047 - 09/07/04 06:23 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Hey right now I fan my cakes 3 to 4 times a day I would like to know what if I cut a hole in the side and put in a little computer fan that is around 2 inches and have it on a time to come on like every 4 to 5 hours for about 5 mins. think that would be ok.

Humidity problems? If the hole's big enough for a comp fan then how bad would it be to try to get it up to 100% humidity?

Possibly would be ok but you need a hygrometer to monitor to see how long it takes for the chamber to get back up to humidity.

the humidity right now stays at high all the time I guess that means it's above 100 because it reads all the way up to 99 then go to high so I don't know how high the humidity gets and I all so have a 1 inche fan to maybe a little smaller too.

Well what kind of setup are you using. I think if you have a PMP you would be just fine. Ive seen this done before and it worked well. Im not sure about a perlite setup though. Might have humidity probs like scio said.

Ive found that with a PMP its pretty hard to get the humidity down to levels that are going to be detrimental. Do you have an electronic hygrometer??? It sounded like you did. A fan of that size shouldnt be a problem. The only thing id worry about is contams. Do you have a room that is dedicated to growing?? If this is the case and you keep that room pretty sterile this shouldn't be too much of a problem. HHMMmmmm......i guess thats about it.
