what makes this BBS so unique is the fact that we actually can meet each other in RL. that is, to put a face to the words.

does any other message board have this?

we should all take advantage of these opportunities to meet each other.

it really makes this place THAT much more special.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

I would love to go to a gathering. I never get a chance to. I don't ever have the money and usually...the gatherings are to far away. Someday I will meet alot of you. At least I hope so!!

I'm paranoid about the gatherings. What's to stop LEO's from joining our little gatherings? We already post the people in attendance and the location in public, I think it'd be pretty easy for a pig to check out the fun.

I post at another site that has gatherings. They call them "summits" there, though.

I would never want to meet those guys in real life. I've talked to one of the guys on the phone though.

There is a Blue ?yster Cult board or 2 that have "fan gatherings" all year as well.
Good fun meeting people with the same interest that you only know online. Next up for me is Vegas on the 17th of sept.
And most of the fans I have met share my same habbits.. :smirk: :thumbup:

I used to dial into a local BBS back in the mid-90's and all the sysops and core users got to be great friends. That was almost 10 years ago and I am still great friends with several them even though the BBS has been gone a long time. We used to have get togethers (g2g's) every few months to go see a movie or laser show or hang out for dinner and stuff. They were also the people whom I first started "partying" with.... and the party hasn't ever really stopped!

do u really thinkg a lfo is gonna show up and bust you for smoking weed or taking something??? no...as long as u dont show up with tons of contraband looking to make money you'll be ok...plus for NE we only give out the date through pms.

I used to post on this raving message board that had occasional meetups, but they didn't happen too often.

But ya, Shroomery gatherings are awesome. I can't wait til we start having official Shroomery gatherings.

funny thing is its the big drug related site that has them. i thought all you druggies were bad hobos that went out killing people on intxicated axe swingings.

id love to come to one. but never see them, adn the one i did notice wasnt anywhere close.

I would be down to go to a gathering, but the guy that mentioned about pigs infiltrating has a point. How could we avoid that from happening? I certainly don't want to get hauled off.
