ShaqAttack said: I had 6 cakes in a cooler with perlite and water and was having a hell of a time getting any pinning or any action at all for that matter. I had one cake that had a 1" shroom that grew and then died. I was fanning and misting, but obviously was failing some where along the line. Being frustrated - I gave up and put the cooler in a corner and moved on to bigger and better things. I came back in 2 weeks to clean the room out and was going to clean up the cooler too. To my suprise - when I opened the cooler lid there were about 20 huge over grown shrooms. The stems were huge and bloated. I guess even a squirrel can find a nut - LOL!!
You see FF whatever that stands for, His story was my story of my first success exactly the styro cooler in the corner (I had two coolers) it was shortly after that 20-30min. I was laying on the grass in the back yard rolling around laughing trippin balls! Brought back some good energy, Thank You.

Maybe you should write something instead of just posting icons. It sure looked like he failed because of using your contstant fanning method and then you laughed at him.
So, are you saying that your first grow failed from overfanning also?
Don't get upset when nonsensical messages are (mis)interpreted.

No FF not over fanning but the frequent newbie mistake of over loving your shroomies to death (to much intervention) He didn't use my method because if he did he would have succeeded more than likely You cannot just do part of a strategy an expect results you need to follow ever word and more importantly pay fucking attention. I'm having a hard time believing you could even grow athletes foot fungus FF! You are too caught up in something, I haven't put my finger on it yet but I can see that your are definitely not seeing the big picture It is sad but ya know what better you than any other genuine newbies here sorry to say. I do wish you the best and hope you experience one of lifes many enlightening eye openers (experiences)

I'm immune to athletes foot fungus.
My days of growing shrooms are long past, but I've given enough away and helped enough growers get started that I will never want for mushrooms. I still have interest in conducting some experiments though.

I've never had it either (athletes foot fungus). Experiments are always fun and needed no doubt!

Fanning 24 times a day? Kramer must have no life. Or is he just trying to fan dry the shrooms while they are still on the cakes?

CO2 is heavier than most other gasses so no, not in the lid. Somewhere lower like on the side, preferably lower than where your cakes are if possible without of course letting water out. Think dry ice, and how the visible CO2 fog always clings to the floor.

Great visualization Bro!!!! Maybe that will help the newbies see WTF is actually going on. WTG!

Is it just me, or is spudz on the ball today? This is the second post I've come across where he put exactly what I was thinking up there, but this time he has a great visual example anyone can relate to. Spudz, you've got the right idea.

Thanks for the kind words, both of you. I strive to be clear and accurate as I can be, without being confrontational or condescending. Note it would have been much easier and made me feel more powerful had I said "no, dumbass, do you actually have no concept of how CO2 behaves?" which was probably my first instantaneous thought - but that helps no one.
Of course if it's real obvious that a newb didn't read at least something resembling the FAQ or searched the posts, I will be more terse, but still generally helpful (as in pointing out a thread where it had already been well explained, or where exactly in the FAQ to look).
Plus an advantage is I can type verbage ad infinitum, with nearly correct punctuation and stuff, almost easier than I can talk in person to someone. Most of the time this only gains me an "OMG U type lots" reaction but it is more important to be clear (and less concise) than to assume someone else knows what you're thinking. People used to hate me at work, because if I sent an email it generally was well explained (meaning, several paragraphs). Something like this post, as an example. LOL

Don't let people put you down Spudz76. Those are the same people who will make fun of a guy in a wheelchair for his "book learnin'". There seems to be way too many of those people around.
