I'm looking at buying a capsule filler to put my shrooms in. The empty capsules are size '0'...anyone know how many dried grams can be fitted in to one of those? shrooms?

best to get 00, 0 might be able to hold 400mg though

400mg of dried shrooms in a 0 size is a lot. I can barely fit 500mg in a 00.
Anyway, O or OO is good for shrooms.
I always take it that way now

Cheers Gus. Once I've filled all the capsules I can, is there a best way to store them? How long should they last for?

Make sure you pack the caps as hard as possible,make a blunt,round tool about the same size as the cap to do this,pack a little in to the end caps aswell to make sure they are very well packed. This will ensure there's no air inside the caps and will help prevent oxidation of the actives,they'll keep good for a year atleast in the freezer.
If you have digi scales you'll find that it's possible to get 0.6g in each cap,the caps themselves weigh 0.1

Thanks, is it a bad idea to jst keep them in a cool, dry place (in a sealed container)? Because I doubt one of my housemates at uni this year will like the idea of dried shrooms in our freezer!

I recently got my cap maker in the mail and made up 50 caps.
I am not sure how people are getting .5 grams in a OO cap I can not seem to get that in there.
The cap weighs 1.8 grains (or .1 grams)
7 tightly packed capsules weighs 48.30 grains (or 2.89 grams)
subtract the capsule weight of 7 capsules 12.60 grains (or .70 grams really it is .75 grams)
so the material weighs 35.70 grains (or 2.14 grams)
That works out to 5.10 grains (.30 grams) per capsule. That is using the packing tool that came with the capsule maker and packing it vary tight.
So what am I doing wrong? how do you get .5 grams in a OO capsule?

I have been grinding them to dust in an electric coffee grinder as well. I am at a loss as to why I can not get .5 grams in each.

You got me. I have a "00" capsule machine and I can sometimes get .6 grams in them, more if I pack some in the top part of the caps(something that I rarely do). If you have "00" capsules there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to get more than .3 grams packed in there.

er... third time lucky... anyone know whether i can store the capsules in, say, a cupboard? in a baggie? or a glass container?

ok, it worked. i got 300mg in per 0 capsule... but now i need some storage tips, if any one has any to offer.

Freezer would be better, but if impossible a cool and dry place will do.
I never stored my mushrooms in the freezer, and they've always been good for up to 3+ months. You'll notice some potency drop after a couple months, but nothing serious.

Really? That’s odd I would think if you sealed them up real well they would last longer than that.

I've never done the capsule thing. I tend to turn mine to powder and throw them into chocolates. I love dosing like that.
