Tyvek suits????

I saw some Tyvek jumpsuits at work. They are used to keep dust off of you while cleaning the machines.

Would this work for a filter, or do I need the envelopes?

I would use the envelopes. The suits probably have some wear and tear, which could create small holes in it. The ennelopes are free, so why not use them?

Homewrap tyvek is difrent from the suits. Tyvek is a brand. My father has tyvek suits that are a polomymer cloth with dimples. He uses them for doing hazmat. Homewrap from home depot is a porus plastic.

Also the suits are only used once then toseed out, since there contamed, and im talking lead, asbestos, murcury. My dad has a box full in his car.

They wouldn't get very far with the tyvek brand if they used different stuff in it all the time. It's all the same stuff otherwise they wouldn't call it tyvek.

You are missinformed on this subject FF. Check this out tyvek has many applications with many differences in the specs.

Perhaps you should read the link you posted. Spunbonded Olefin is what all tyvek is made out of. You can get hard and soft types aparently, but it's still the same substance. I wasn't trying to say that they are exactly the same, but they are made out of the same stuff. It looks like the only differences are hard or soft, and with or without tiny holes. Gr0wer was claiming that they are made of different material.

"Type 14 styles are used where barrier, durability and
breathability are required. They offer excellent splash
and dry protection against particulate matter and provide
an excellent bacterial barrier. The unique low-linting properties,
combined with the barrier properties,
make Type 14 an excellent material for cleanroom
apparel in pharmaceutical manufacture and electronic
device assembly.
Type 16 styles are pin perforated with 5-20 mil
(0.13-0.51 mm) holes, giving them much higher air and
moisture permeability, additional softness, and greater
flexibility and drape than Type 14 styles, but at the
expense of lower tear strength and barrier properties.
Type 16 styles, when fabricated into garments, have
higher air permeability at the expense of barrier properties.
Typically, Type 16 styles are used in disposable, generalpurpose
industrial garments, bags and packaging."

Yes both the cloth and plastic sheets are polymers. I wasnt claiming anything i was stating a fact that the cloth tyvek, envelope, and homewrap are different products with different applications.

Yes but I just want to say for the 48 bucks spent, I got 960 sq feet. Do you have any idea how many jars a person could do????

Homewrap works just as well as a trip to the post office and a trip to the post office and a trip to the post office and.......

Why were you calling me misinformed then? By "stuff" I meant the material it's made out of, not that they don't process it differently.

I didn't think I had to explain that a Tyvek suit and an envelope aren't processed exactly the same way.
