Contam or too much H2O

This is my first time growing and i'm pretty sure i put too much water in my PF jars. I know too much water can cause yellowing but i'm not sure this is the case. Can anyone tell me if this is contam or is it just a reaction because of too much water?
Thanx

Hmm, It looks to me like in-vitro stroma [like overlay]. It could be contamination, though. How old is the jar? Can you smell anything?

4 weeks? Could be myco excrements...

What type is growing? And at what temperature? I've seen similar (but lighter colored) in high moisture jars when kept really warm for a long period of time (4+ weeks) they later became contaminated with asperg. but i believe it was due to slow growth from being dried out and not being able to fend off the contams

It's B+ in BRF and it stays around 76-78 temp. I already started some new jars I don't want to take any chances.

In-vitro stroma is probably not a real term; Jars can get that look when they've been kept around too long. Others seem to have the same impression, that the coloring is just mycelium. Personallly, I think it's worth birthing, and shouldn't mess up any new jars you have planned. If it is a bacterial problem, the smell should be obvious when you remove it from the jar.

I have something extremely similar, no pics rite now. I wish this site had bookmarks/subscriptions to threads, like overgrow does. (sigh, overgrow)
Since sporeworks.com dilutes their syringes so much I put like 5cc in each jar to speed up the process. Now one of my birthed cakes is leaking excrement out the side. I thought it was just water, and i thought it'd get that coloring from the rice flour/verm.

To me it seems like it is myc piss. It seems to be pretty wet in the jar and when my jars have excess water like that they tend to also develop spots like that.
If it smells off though, its probably a contam. Good luck.

I think it sort of does, look far down near the bottom left of the page for the "Favorite Thread! (toggle)" link. I think that does something like what you want, not that I've used it personally.

It has. You can add a thread to the "Favorite thread" as previously hinted. Then go to "My home". There you have an option related to subscribe/unsubscribe at the bottom, click it. Now you can check a setting so you can receive info regarding your favorite threads.
