Finch seed water ratio

Whats the best way to get the water ratio right in a LARGE filter patch bag? i was just gana steep for 24 hours and then dran and let air dry for like 6. anyone hot anything better?

Why are you using a large filter patch bag? 24 hours seems a bit much.

I'm using large filter patch bags because i ordered 100 of then from FP to use with straw. i found a better plan to use straw when i get around to it and i thought it would be good for innoculation substrate.

steep over a low heat (steep, not boil) for 45 minutes or so. the seed will have absorbed enough water at that point. let cool, add some gypsum or chalk if desired to aid in non-stickiness, and go on to sterilizing.
