Rapid weight loss

This is sort of odd. Most people are concerned about gaining weight. Well as I was so happy because since I started my job a month ago I've been losing weight. I spread stock in a grocery store at night, so some heavy lifting is involved. Early in the winter of this year I weighed about 230 pounds. Before my job I was just over 220. Now, a month later, I've lost 30 pounds and am down to 190. The thing is I'm less fat, but I still have a good amount left.
What is odd is that I've always had trouble losing any weight. 30 pounds is a fucking lot, especially in a month, and especially considering I didn't change my diet at all. Yesterday and today at work, mostly yesterday, there were times after I'd put something down I'd get all light headed. Yesterday I was getting kind of worried because I kept getting light headed and was feeling weak.
I'm happy to have lost so much weight but I'm still a bit concerned. Is there anything wrong with me?

Have you drastically reduced your calorie intake? 30lbs in a month is a lot, and I can guarantee most of that weight is muscle loss. Your body can only sustain about 3-4 lbs tops of just fat loss a week, thats if you eat right. Any more than that and it starts catabolizing muscle. You are probably feeling light-headed b/c your malnourished.

Yeah if your diet changed, examine that.
If not, I would go get checked out and see what a trained professional has to say.

Try eating some snacks...healthy ones. You might just need some more food intake....you might be burning off too many calories.
If the light headed feeling continues...go see a doctor.
I used to be a garbage man years ago....and used to get light headed. I lost like 50 to 60 pounds in 2 to 3 months. It was really hard eating enough to keep my weight on. I started snacking and was able to keep some weight on...and the light headed feeling went away.
Good luck!~

I would say eat granola bars or nutra-grain bars in between meals... they're healthier than a candy bar and will give you the energy you need to do your job.
the rapid weight loss is probably due to your job... I mean think about, it's like going to the gym for 8 hours a day.

Feeling weak? maybe you aren't eating enough for your work - that's why you are losing weight - your bodies burning all the shit in you - and it can't get it immediatly when you need it thus the light headed self

k. I don't think it's muscle being burnt off cuz i have a bit more muscle and I'm thinner so yeah. I'll see how things keep going. I don't know if it's lack of food. Like I eat till I'm full, I can't possibly eat more food haha.

You think you have a bit more muscle because your becoming thinner and its being seen, as opposed to being covered by fat, but trust me, you lost muscle mass, its almost impossible to stop it when losing weight. Especially if its done as fast as you did. It's not that big a deal though.

You can't have lost 30 pounds of fat in 30 days... that would indicate you're burning 4000 more calories than you're eating, every day. Most people only burn/eat 2000-2500 calories per day.

No seriously I have more muscle. Like my forearms for example. There never really is any fat on them. Now if I tense them they're like rocks. And I don't see how I could still be able to do my job if I've lost much muscle. Who knows.

Im in the same boat as you bro, except I eat a little less that usual and lost 20lbs in a few weeks. It does seem like I have less fat and more muscle too. I started working out this week though just to counter-act the muscle loss I keep hearing about.

first of all, stocking groceries WILL NOT make you gain muscle. The fact that you think this indicates you know nothing about nutrition/weight loss/weight gain. If you lost 30 pounds in a month, most of it is water weight and some of it is fat/muscle.
You could have a disease or you could be dehydrated.

I don't know Sir, I did stocking for a long time, I lost a ton of LBS. Tasty_Smurf_House** Have you considered taking vitamins? I had to do that, it helped alot, because even if you eat alot it still may not be enuff to help you do all that fast pace work. Blackie

you="I did stocking for a long time"
him="I started my job a month ago"
My point is that he doesn't understand weightloss so his credibility is not good. I think his story isn't entirely true or there is something he isn't telling us (I've spend both of my paychecks on meth and haven't eaten for a few months....) For one reason or another, you have to fish information out of people who are looking for a diagnosis

no. im not stocking as in im putting boxes on shelves. we're spreaders. we haul pallets around full of shit with shitty pallet jacks (not the powered ones) and are taking shit off and moving shit around like boxes with 2-5L of bleach or 22lb flour bags but they come 2 a piece. and pickles are heavy. and i dunno all kinds of shit. trust me it is hard work, and no I don't do meth and i don't go hungry.
good idea with vitamins though black rose. i'll try that.

I've worked for UPS since may. I am constanly jogging up and down a belt that spans 50+ feet picking off 100+ pound packages and carrying them 20 feet to trucks. I handle anywhere from 300 to 500 a shift (4 hours). I haven't lost any weight at all. In fact, I've gained weight.
If you are eating a normal 2500 calories a day and still losing 30 pounds in a month, that's pretty miraculous. That's awesome if you did, but I wouldn't be worried about it. If it was all fat, the weightloss will start to stop because your caloric needs will drop with your weight. If your diet and work remain constant, your weight will find a healthy equilibrium.

You may have an intestinal worm. 30 pounds in a month is a lot to lose.
