ok ..thank you..when my cakes are done flushing should i just throw them out, or can i do something else with them? like make an outdoor bed? or make a casing or such? and if i did an outdoor patch would there be time for them to spawn myc and fruit before it gets too cold? (in montana)?

Dunk them in tea made from cow shit after every flush, they should produce many great flushes.

and they will most likely contaminate fast...

Karma, its a great idea to find a spot to toss them, give them a final soaking before you do it and hope for the best

Cakes will get depleted of nutes over time. I've heard dumbasses claim to get 15+ flushes off cakes and I just laugh idiots! I agree with P#1 thats been mine and most of my fellow growers experiences. Cakes work great as spawn for OD grows! I personally love spawning horse poo and horse poo/straw they only need a couple three weeks to grow out somewhat and with daily evening mistings produce well, nice solid fruits! GL bk

No just dig a hole in a shady place about 4 inches deep and crumble cakes into it. cover about 1 inch deep in soil. wet it down very good. and wait. You want old cakes about 4 inchs deep.

I got 10 flushes from one cake... most were small single mushrooms but technicaly they were flushes... I did a few experiments at a friends lab and made use of his glovebox, we used several different nutrient mediums that we worked with and managed 8 good flushes but in all honesty, it was cheating...

his glovebox was similar to this...

Not a pin at all just make sure the manure is aged 1yr+ and just break up the cakes and distribute well and keep moist. Also important this is all done best in an area that receives no direct sunlight to totally shaded. GL and have fun!

could you do a indoor caseing adding new nutes or substrate mixed with old cakes then case. wouldnt it be the same as outdoor grow .also how would you know if the myc is contaminated when its under the ground and digging would be a mess and make the myc regrow?

can you just case them in a bunch of potting soil and grow them indoors?

That glove box is bitchin. I think what I would rather have is one of those baby incubator things. The ones they put premature babies in they have gloves on all sides, filterd air and the works.
