thats an idea, but i can see it as a possible thread killer. espceially with such a good spore trade. i dotn know, but im sure that there wouldnt be w whole lot of people here wanting as much as is available. maybe perhaps use spores with an alternative. like XX spore print OR XX peyote seeds.
good idea, but it may make things more complicated than is wanted.

I would just like to say that I'm impressed with the new swiftness and smoothness the Free Seed Thread has taken on.

Umm okay, i was meaning to say something about this the other day, but i've been busy like a bitch with exams. Stonehenge addressed what iw as gonna say in another post. so i'll quote him here
Quote:
Although, someone set a precedent by turning down a newbie in the seed thread recently.
What sa we about this? Do we also want to allow the offering of spore prints too? Perhaps not alone, but in tandem or something? Suggestions anyone?

i like the idea of spore prints, but i am warry of them taking over the seed thread. i dotn mind newbs playing along, perhaps make it so they have to send first though? i dont like people being turned down because of post counts. but i do see where it comes from. ya.

We already have a spore thread, this was supposed to be for seeds. If there was a requirement of at least one trade rating or the person had at least 50 posts and a month, that would take care of the problem of a newbie registering and the next day grabs the free seeds. No one is going to want to take a chance on the newbie. One person said no to a newbie recently and the thread then took off. The things that seem to kill the thread are seeds no one wants, saying "some" and a newbie being last. We kind of took care of the seeds no one wants by saying no mg seeds unless along with something else. Poppies have been offered in quantities or a gram or more and have been good varieties. What happens when someone offers McCormick which you can get at the grocery store? Or they say generic tazzies which is the same? We can't have a rule for every possible situation. Maybe we should wait until it becomes a problem? Kadakuda's suggestion of making the newbies send first might take care of it. But then the thread would stall until he had a chance to send which could take a week or two, maybe longer. Saying one trade referrence or 50 posts + 1 month might be enough to keep it moving. Maybe 3 months would be better if they had no trade feedback?

ya i hear ya. i sent him a pm seeing if he wanted to trade my peds dfor datura and jsut said he sends first. i just felt bad for him. i dont mind newbs but i can see how my idea would stall and fuck up the thread. as for spores i would love to trade some seeds for a couple prints. its all i have to trade with and i cant buy prints at the moment. i think it would be cool maybe saying you have to add seeds to a print offer. but now this thread is getting way complicated and thats not fair at all to the mods. its not bad as is. the mg/poppy rule are good ones

what if we simply followed the precedent that's already been made? That is that the person who would be sending seeds to the new user (or possibly any user) would have the right to send or not send at their descression as long as no one has already posted requesting the seeds that the person they would be refusing had offered. This could get really tricky I suppose, but it seems like a better alternative than stalling the thread by waiting for seeds to be recieved. Also it would apply just as much to people with poor trade ratings as to those with none, because it would be at the senders descression. Just a thought.
