Is it ok to rehyrdrate when...

I was wondering if it was ok to rehydrate a cake when it was in the process of pinning and developing mushrooms. I have this one cake that is starting to turn blue as if its running low on water and i was wondering if it would be ok to just set it on top of some damp vermiculite. or should i wait until its through with its flush before i rehydrate it? i would probably just dunk it if i had to wait until the flush was over with... as always, any advice is much appreciated. once i harvest my first shrooms i will make sure that i give a big thanks to everyone here. i should probably do it now as well considering ive gotten alot of info from you guys. thanks = )

Sure, do it exactly like you were thinking. Fill a lid with damp verm and set the cake on top of that. Make sure you wash your hands and arms before touching the cake to prevent getting nasty contams.
