    #3084779 - 09/02/04 09:26 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

The mycelia has fully colonized each cake (I can take a picture if you feel it necessary), everything has been placed in the growing chamber and has remained there for the last two week. Yet there is NO PIN GROWTH! Everything seems set-up like it is suposed to be I have no idea what to do. Please help. Thank you very much.

try keeping the temp between 74-77 degress and give at least 6 hours of light a day. my friends cakes took about 13 or 14 days to pin, dont worry as long as they dont have mold they will pin soon. once they start they double there size every day til there done. it is exciting to look at them before you go to work then when you get out they are twice the size they were 10 hours ago.

yeah same here. this happend my first time around and now on my second try it seems to be happening again. Course now I've got fruit flies too, so I'll have to try and deal with that. It's been way hot here like 80's, so I'm thinking that may be the problem.

Hi. Maybe we could get a little more info from u and we might be able to pin point
ur problem.
How much humidity is in the chamber???
What method of exchanging air are u exercising.
and as mentioned above
what is the temp and ar u giving it light?

Also i noticed u had no rating so i gave u a five because uve made it this far.
Good Luck!

[edit] Also if its not too much trouble we would love some pix. Everyone enjoys
a little eye candy.

I have perlite on the bottem, the temp is just about 74 and everyday I lift the lid off and fan them a few times.

Here are a few pictures:

I don't see any condensation on the walls of your chamber. You probably need to increase the humidity. Try less fanning or more water in the perlite.

A longer wait may be in order but if it goes another week then this may be your problem.....

Your cakes look dry to me. I don't mean they are brittle dry. Just I'm thinking you may want to dunk them underwater for 18-24 hours and put e'm back in chamber. I would do a dunk in water then roll them in damp verm.
