hello guys. lets say that i have a beautiful mushroom and want to make a nicknack from it. how can i do this?
i mean like puting the shroom in an ice cube (from see through plastic) and then put it somewhere on my room.
i hope u understood what i mean.

Maybe lucite? I don't know where to get it though. It's a plastic. Ever see those paper weights and crap that have scorpions and bugs and stuff in them? That's lucite. When my mother inlaw was little, her mom used to take them out and catch bugs and put them in lucite. Try looking around online for a place to order it.  :wink:

Maybe you can find somewhere to freeze dry it. Ask a taxidermist. I've seen freeze dried animals before. So maybe you could freeze dry it, then put it in lucite or epoxy resin or something?  :shrug:

varnish. spray varnish. get a fish bowl pop in the shrrom and pour in poly-resin mix sold at micheals, hobby lobby, and other arts and crafts stores. gel wax in a candle style thing may be cool too. my g/f got the life-sized glass heads at peir one. i want to get an amenita muscaria and get poly resin i there so i can store it in there forever. i get your idea. cool one too.

Shellack the sonuvabitch. My crazy aunt is a shellack addict. Its this stuff you can get and spray on or bake on or something, but it turns stuff hard as a rock. You can do it to anything. Food, plants, bugs....
