I didn't get to see any of the Republican National Convention last night. How was it?
How badly did Bush screw up while attempting to speak?
What's up with the Bush supporters wearing band-aids with purple hearts on them?

Zell Miller gave a barnburner of a speech, then gave Chris Matthews the biggest public bitch-slapping he has ever received. 'Twas a thing of beauty.
Bush didn't give a speech last night.

For someone who ripped W's father ( I think he called him a whimp!) in a speech at the DNC in 1992, Zell Miller really did an about face. He totally trashed Kerry and his voting record.

Oh that's right, Bush doesn't speak on the first night. Does he speak tonight or tomorrow?
Why did Miller get pissed and diss Chris?

You mean when Matthews asked why Zell was dissing kerry for not voting on some random military project (helicoptors or something), considering Cheney was also against that same bill and how Zell replied with, "Yeah but we're talking about Kerry here!". Yeah total bitch slap to Chris. Ouch, zing.

I thought Republicans were supposed to be all anti politcal correct and stuff. They went out of their way to show minorites (going along with their compassionate conservative bullshit). Every other shot was a token black guy,a hispanic,a guy in wheelchair...the speaches given double in Spanish were extremely corny also.
Then came Arnold with his retarded, non sensical catch phrases. Multiple shots of the Bush twins in skimpy, tight clothes to appeal to the up and coming whore demographic came next.
An all round crap-o-thon.

"tight, skimpy clothes" ????
Okay, I didn't see the TV coverage, but there are plenty of video links on the web as well as a few dozen still photos on yahoo.com and elsewhere, and if that's your definition of "tight, skimpy clothes" you're probably the biggest prude ever to post on The Shroomery. You don't get out much, do you?

I've read a transcript of their remarks and they are undoubtedly a prime pair of ditzes -- I mean, what on earth was Rove thinking when he decided it would be a benefit to have these two airheads blathering away -- but to call their mode of dress one calculated to appeal to the upcoming whore demographic is just plain delusional.

You got me. I did infact watch it,but I wasn't really paying attention, especially to the moron twins. I just heard somewhere where they were trying to appeal to the MTV generation and I've seen them wear mondo whorish stuff before,so I put two and two together.
Anyway, who cares. I really don't give a rat's ass about their attire. They went out of their way to appeal to minorities though, that's for damn sure.
That the convention was a total shit fest still stands...

Oh yeah, similar things were pointed out on the Daily Show(very funny stuff),but I noticed them before I saw it.
I find it sad that Mark dug up three photos with links to refute my statement.

The RNC in a nutshell:
terrorists are bad,blah,blah,blah....terrorists hate our freedom and way of life,blah,blah,blah...those terrorists will never win,blah,blah,blah...Kerry is a damn hippy and will let terrorist do as they please,blah,blah,blah...I'd suck Bush off if I were gay, blah, blah, blah
Political conventions are kind of like gay porn conventions, anybody is there just to jerk everybody else off.

Felt like a Benny Hinn sermon. I laughed when all the people in the audience just before Bush's speech had signs that read "USA" instead of something Bush or Republican related. It was like they thought they'd found some full proof way to prevent booing. So clever.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's not possible for me to be anymore disgusted with the Republican party, I'd be really appalled at how much they used 9/11 as a political weapon. They pulled every trick in the book, and anyone with any awareness can see through how calculated every image, word, poster, chant, and pair of flip-flops was at working the emotional reaction of the American voter. Completely insincere and without any shame.
And unfortuntely it worked. Some polls now have Bush in a double digit lead over Kerry. I'm without words for how amazed I am at the level of awareness 52% of this country has. Just wow.
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.
