I was talking to Vamp earlier, and he pointed out that our humble message board is actually the second largest of all those on the internet that run Infopop software (UBB or OpenTopic). We're ranked #159 overall, only four spots lower than the official Playstation forums at Playstation.com!
Anyway I just thought I'd mention that. Shroomery represent!

does that somehow take away from the significance of our rank?

Yea that is a lotta posts, keep in mind we also have 1,097,234 posts in our archives, and that our highest traffic forum here implements post expiration which removes inactive posts on a regular basis.
Screw the rankings, performance is more important!

If you check we are #16 for traffic under all message boards. I think this is the best way to decide on a boards worth.
Facethejury.com is number 1 or 2 in posts counts and threads but drop off when you check traffic and members. What do you expect from 14 year olds who have nothing to do all summer but chat. I actually saw a member at a website like facethejury who had 47,000 posts and was registered for under a year. Blows me away.
