Taz and B+? Help Plz.(w/ rye flour)

Afoaf innoculated 3 B+ and 3 Taz pf jars(w/rye flour) about 4 1/2 days ago. 1 b+ jar has growth about the size of a silver dolar on one side and the other 2 B+'s have about one quarter size piece of growth on each. But none of the 3 Taz's have any myc yet. The B+ syringe had more spores in it also. So should he be worried about the Taz's or are they just slower? he's a newb. Probably should just wait another 6 days or so. Also no standing water on the sides or bottom and no contams yet so thats good.

Did you buy your syringes from a shroomery vendor?

ok 5 1/2 days now and now growth on the Taz's still but also no contams. the B+ are still spreading, but all 3 of them are only growing on one of four innoculation points? so now i'm guessing that either the spores in the taz are bad or their just slower than B+. hope its that second one.

ok thanks that puts afoaf's mind at rest a little. how many of you have jars only start colonizing on one side?

Did you forget to shake up your spore syringe?

no he did shake them up. i'm convinced that the more spores there are the faster it germinates cause the one that showed myc first had spore chunks visible on the out side of the jar. it actually clogged up the syringe for a second. So i'm think that maybe the places that are colonizing right now are the ones that got the most spores and that the other innoc. points will show growth in a few days hopefully. btw there was a little air in the syringe but the spores wouldn't break up when i shook it, but there should still be thousands floating in clear fluid right?

it sounds like the spore clumps were not broken up well.

probably. the B+ syringe was the one with the solid clumps. the taz had a couple of very small(pinhead size) clumps showing. at thehawkseye.com it says that taz is an extremely fast grower? i didn't get my syringes from there(got them from another shroomery sponsor) but maybe after they germinate they'll start growing fast and the B+ aren't faster growers just faster germinaters?

i tried taz and cambo my first time but ended up having too much water in the jars... the taz never even germinated in 2 weeks, about half the cambos started colonizing ~1.5 weeks then contamed at ~2.2 weeks so i threw the whole batch out and started over

that sucks. afoaf is lucky enough to have seen myc growing in one jar just short of 3 days after innoculation without a incubator and its still going now at about 5 1/2 after innoculatoin. just waiting for those damn taz's to start doing their thing. He also has a full syringe of cambo he will use after he births which ever cakes(if any) fully colonize. that way after he gets hopefully at least 2 flushs the cambos will be ready to birth soon after. Though he would be happy with even one flush off one cake this being his first time. he hasn't ever taken them either and neither have i . so it will be more exciting to take them rather than grow them cause it will be a new experience.

My advice is to stick with the tassies and chuck out the B+ - they are a shit strain by every measure. Tassies are quick and usually potent with bigger flushes than other strains - more often better isolates

well i have a feeling if they fully colonize i will keep all of them, but its nice to know that the taz's are potent and have good flushes.

Is this true? I've always heard good things about B+...
