I try not to over mash it. I have had myc not recover from over mashing it. I found it is better to mash it right after inoculation. And leave it be until birth.

Don't get me wrong a good mashing after myc is 10-20% grown is a good Tex for sure. It works great. I just had a few bags mashed very well and the myc. never recovered. So I read somewhere here, to mash right after incoluation. I figured I would put 5 extra cc,s soultion in and mash it real good.I don't move it again until birth. Shit man 4 days later every square inch of this bag was covered in mew Myc. 8 days goes by and into the pan.Remeber to have temps at 86 degs. So now all I do is incolate heavy and mash good. Same with my jars and I shake the piss out of them.

Ive never had a jar not recover from being shook unless it was contamed. After 2-4 days the bag should continue growth. Break it up well and mix when its %20-30 colonized.

Yeah I agree those were probly contmed for sure. But after having success with mashing after growth and after incolation. I found I gained about 3 days in time to fruiting. not that 3 days makes a big deal.
