contamination dangers??
    #3073228 - 08/31/04 11:51 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Just wondering if any contaminations pose a health risk by inhaling?...I've heard of people losing their faces after molds have been inhaled and literally rotted their faces off. I know this would be rare, but what about even respitory risks?...

molds definitely pose a health risk by inhalation. That's their main route. They're airborne. check out the contam FAQ in the contam forum.

Do they germinate in your lung or is it the spore by itself that is bad?
I know about scientists who died some time after thy entered a burial chamber of an ancient egypt pharaoh.
They found massive amount of spores in the chamber, the newspapers wrote about the curse of the pharaoh.

Yes some mirco animals can hurt you short term and long term. There are a few that can kill if inhaled in large amounts.I did some research on the net.

Example of how this might happen to you.
You got 12 quart jars that for some reason all got infected. Fuck
So you just set e'm out on the back porch.  Few months later you find e'm . FUCK

Well I might as well clean thme out then.  Open a jar  WHOA..........

Dude there were so many different colors in there. When I tried to scrape some of that shit out of there, puffy clouds of pink and black spores filled the air around me. HUM..............Time to run.

Anyway this happened to me last year. While it probley takes a couple big lungfuls to harm you. Be careful because, it can happen. :tongue2:

if yur shit smells like shit, DONT INHALE DEEPLY, all noobs should be told that.. i was horribly sick for a week straight, because i inhaled alot of green mold smell... and im NOT a sick person, i get sick 1 time every 2 years.... be careful, if the shit contaminates through the air, that means its in the air you breathe! throw away contamination right away

Yeah I totaly agree with you Triple B . It is better to just throw out contaminated stuff right away. After that experience last year, something else happened that sucked. My house got infected and gave me troubles from all the bad spores that entered.

So it may seem silly but I just throw out infected jars and bags now without ever even opening them. The price of a jar does not compare to the aggrivation of contaminated Air.

While some molds are only dangerous to some people and the amount of contact to cause serious problems differs from person to person, there are some types of mold which can kill you with only a few spores finding their way into your lungs or getting into your body through cuts etc. As if dying isnt bad enough ,some will cause complications that will make you wish you were dead a thousand times over.

BE CAREFUL! Without the aid of good microscope and a well trained eye you will not be able to distinguish the harmless from the deadly so it is best to just carefully dispose of them without opening anything and releasing any bad stuff. Even better is to just load them into the pc and give em a good hr at 15psi to make sure you kill anything inside before you chuck em. I guess it would be much safer to think about cleaning and re-using at this point also.
