it usually has a period after pasteurization that it stinks ya....but before and after it shouldn't smell like poo if it was properly leeched and dried
most will say its cause of the heat but I have found its when the poo is soaked that it stinks...once you get the access water out and add your spawn its already smelling more like dirt and less like poo and after a day or 2 it should smell like wet dirt/earthy type deal

one of my favourite debates.
when i've dried horse shite to a dust, i was able to tell my flatmates that it was potting soil and they had no idea whatsoever. whenever it's wet, however, i agree that it can smell somewhat nappy-style

Sounds like poo in the house requires a negtive ion generator and airfilters in the room. Kinda the same way you get rid of skunky bud smell.

I think that you might have used FRESH poo........Fresh poo cooked at 175 WILL smell like shit.
Properly Composted poo doesnt smell at all(IMO) or at the very least smell a little earthy, but definetly not like a fresh loaf.
The first time I cooked poo I had to do it with my mom in the kitchen.......I said....."I have to sterlize this growing medium, I am going to put it in the oven for about 2 hours at 175F, you wont even notice its there mom"
(and you know what, she didnt )

when kramer bakes his shit he puts it in a big turkey roaster pan($1 at the $1 store) and covers with reynolds heavy duty two times, seals it good and never and i mean never does anyone ever smell shit in his house when it is cooking(6-12 hours@ 170F) now i remeber one time he opened the pan when it was still hot and whooo-wheee did it smell like shit!

Well if 6 hours works, and work well use it I guess.
But Newman has had great success with 2 hours, even 1.5 hours
I have never heard of a 6 hour cook, and it seems a little overkill.
(but whats your contam rate?? Low, I assume)

I didnt pasturize in my house. I did it outside then brought it in to cool in the bathtub. It just radiated. Yah it was fresh like Psilocybeingzz said. Id rather not use dry heat cause it does take alot longer than wet heat. also i use my oven all the time so id be cooking shit then id have to throw a pizza on the top rack and that wouldnt be fun. mycobags look so clean and easy, im switching to them.
