I am willing to bet it could be done. And whoever says it cant has no proof b/c they've MOST LIKELY never even thought about it.

Granted you would probably have to do a lotta stuff to the human poo before its ready to grow shrooms with, it could still work I bet..

remember that just because they will grow in human waste does not mean that they should be eaten, shirly mentioned the toxins associated with human and carniverous animal feces, we are really unsure as to what toxins could be picked up in the mushrooms from the substrate.

Mushroom mycelium is a remarkable organism, its can withstand freezing temperatures and rapid thawing, it can colonize virtualy any nutritious substrate with little difficulty, fruiting on these substrates are a completely different matter...

again, this is a great hobbyist experiment but please do not consume anything grown from human wastes...

Im wondering if anyone spawned WBS to their owned leeched feces? I think it would be really cool to trip on something that grew on your own shit. Dont you? I heard that human poo isnt as good a cow or horse poo, but still, it would be totally worth it.

It won't work, but....... I guess it could happen.

what a great thread. I was just checking a casing, in the incubator, and the dango thing jumped onto my leg. So i pushed it back into the tray and decided to take a dump on it. It was kinda a runny dump and spread out evenly, and added a little more coir, i hope to bread my poo into some fine ass shitakes...(shit at keeys)

If any of them grow up out of my poo, I will.

Until then I'll continue eating the cow shit ones.

Alright... The poo project is on!

I'm going to change my diet up a bit, and soon I'll have some high quality poo.

The pictures will have to be from a shitty webcam though. I'll keep you guys updated. I'll also try to find the best human poo agar formulation. I think a lot of it is going to depend on the diet of the pooer though.

Any advice on what I should eat? I'm thinking rice and grape-nuts along with some other grain products like chips and bread and whatnot.

Anything I should avoid eating?

I recomend your normal diet. increasing your fiber intake may help as will eating more nuts and corn. I will always maintain that mycelium will grow if it finds a source of nutrition

as for things to avoid eating... your poo, it tastes like crap.

DUDE GROSS BUT, YOU GOT SOME BALLS

Just I don't think you will change the way we grow shrooms. You might be sucessful as the only man in history to grow shrooms from his own shit.

You got my support
