recipe for abundant pinset and pining

What is the best recipe to make rich and even pinset?
What is the right time to initiate pining? Is this as soon as first signs of micelium are seen or shall i wait until there is micelium poking through the surface on few spots and is already well visible? I heard that this makes better pinset, but i have tried it and the pinset is stil poor. Is my substrate 2-3 inches (6 cm) and casing layer of 1.5 cm to shallow ? Is there any effect if the casing layer is uneven?
please suggest me how to obtain abundant pinset and pining! tnx very muchos!

recipe for abundant pinset=
-1 large casing
-preferrably with some poo in it
-high air exchange
(i can't overemphasize the importance of air exchange 5+ times a day)
-multiple patchings- you are looking for an even coat of myc just below the casing layer
-proper moisture- mist as needed, you can tell after a while when the casing is thirsty just by looking at it
oh and an uneven casing layer is the #1 way i have found to totally fuck up your pinsets
1.5 cm by my math (and i dunno if this is right) works out to about .6 inches, which is just about right for a casing layer on that thin of a substrate.
good luck

1 heaping cup of patience 1 full cup of air exchange 1 scoop of 90% rh + a dash of care and obsessive attention to every minute detail that you can control. --a little prayer doesnt hurt!
Mix it all up and hope for the best!

Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Tip: A perfectly level substrate along with a level casing makes for a much more even pinset. If you need to patch more than once then you need to learn how to do a casing properly Said with all respects

First off do not do as I do I keep hearing it doesn't work. I like to use 2 parts coir to 1 part verm.
When I see myc pop in a few places I put them in the chamber no patching. When I mix the casing it looks like this sloppy mess.
Like I said I'm lazy and don't patch or cover clear containers with foil ( I have a theory on this that will make me look like a nut but so far it's checked out) so like I said don't do as I do I keep getting told it won't work.

Ok, I know this sound pretty stupid, but I feel that the reason I don't get the pinning there is there isn't the air exchange that the surface of the casing layer gets. I just keep the space between the caasing and the container covered at the top so air can't move around in there.
Now I had a lot of movement at the casing layer with only a few spots of myc showing but pinning is pretty even over the whole casing even the parts that you can't see myc covering. Shrooms just grow threw it like plant sprouts.
So yes I feel they need light and air movement to pin and if you choke off one (air movement seems to be the most important) you can cut off pinning. Now I know it sounds retarded but I've been testing it for months and can't seem to break it.

This would contradict the invitro pinning though. Except if they prefer light and air movement to pin over light alone.

Yeah, it's strange but I hope it keeps working it saves a bunch on foil. I know there is no way I'm choking off the air as much as a brf jar.
Well I've just notice this (and I may be wrong this is just what I'm getting) I get more side pinning when there is airmovement allowed to the side of the casing even in dark containers, but very litle on containers that are clear but have little side air so to say. (I still have a few more tests to run)
I hope it stays like this

What do you mean you cover the top between the casing and container, you mean where it pulls away from the edge usually letting air down there? What do you use to stop that from happening? Maybe its because your light setup is up top. I get tons of side pinning though. I havnt really minded, its a pain to pick them out a bit but gives me some extra shrooms till I can get my damn pinsets right

I've never seen invitro's flush prolifically (abundantly). Theres a difference between good flushes and phenomenal flushes and it's all relative to the coincidence of the pinning triggers AND the timing of these triggers. It's an art (pinning) that separates the heads from the growers IMO either way everyones happy in the end

I just use the coir and most my light comes directly from the side.

Weird. Maybe its the higher amount of coir since you put alot more in the ratio that chokes it. I guess I'll have to try it out...

How often do you mist? What's your air exchange rate?
