the only peroxide i can get is 3% h202, and the rest is water. to the best of my knowledge i dont have access to pure peroxide. and applying the 3% solution directly to the cake was reccomended by a very trustworthy and credible person in the shroomery community

Any organism that contains certain enzymes will cause peroxide to "bubble." In animals, it is an enzyme called catalase. H2O2 is the formula for hydrogen peroxide. The bubbles are oxygen gas. Does it mean that your growth has contamination - no. Could it - yes. The enzyme catalase is one of the most common enzymes in living organism. Do understand this - if there is bubbling, then something has been killed. A common experiment in college (& high school) is seeing this in action with yeast, a fungus. So many funguses do get oxidized by peroxide. If you do not see any discoloration, then it is probably not contaminated. But, error on the same side - throw it away if you haven't already.

I doubt that anyone told you to put 3% peroxide directly onto your cake and if so they were incorrect. The 3% should then be diulted again before using it to spray any myc to a 1:10 ratio of 3%H202 and water. Bubbling has nothing to do with contamination. If you add it directly to grains it will do the same. As bioman said, any living organizim that creates an enzyme to breakdown H202 will cause it to break down into water and oxygen (hence the bubbling). This does NOT mean it killed anything, only that it was broken down by the myc. Your cake isnt contamed if you dont see or smell contams and a fully colonized cake is very resistant to contams.

Hmm well I dont know why anyone would tell you to do that to a perfectly healthy cake...next time mist with a solution that I described. More H2O2 can be used but I wouldnt exceed 1:2 ratio 3% H2O2 to water.

Yeah generally it wont kill myc, only stunt it a bunch, but if you use enough it will..glad to hear all is good though
