Ah Crap... Frozen spores? Please help
    #3057797 - 08/27/04 11:27 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I had syringes of Equador, Mazapetec, Aussie, and Cambodians that I didn't need to use for a few days so I put em in the fridge. I checked back a few hours later and the liquid inside wasn't moving anymore and the little air bubbles inside were frozen in place.

Are the syringes ruined???

If I injected them into a mycobag and they didn't take, would it ruin the substrate or could I re-innoculate?

you could re-inocculate... just dont use more than 1cc and make sure that you maintain sterility.

As long as nothing else starts growing in your MycoBag (ie molds or other contaminations) then you can always go back and add more inoculation material to them to get them moving again, you don't ruin a bag because of a single injection that doesn't take.

First thing I'd do is adjust that fridge them give them a try. they can often times handle light freezes but the colder it gets 20F., 10F.,0F.,-10F.,etc; the likely hood of survival decreases for cubies. Your fridge I bet is 30F. but should be 40F. or so  GL and Welcome SpaceSpore!
