Do these look like PE?
    #3056597 - 08/27/04 03:31 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

This is my first time growing PE (second time growing at all) and I wanted the opinion of someone with experience growing this strain. They are light grey, almost white, and it took nearly two months to fully colonize. I don't want to put in the effort with these unless I can be sure that they are what I was trying to grow (or at least another edible strain). Thanks for your help!

Yours look weird, but they probably are PE... even though they look nothing like 'em. Perhaps later flushes will give more "normal" results.

Where'd you get your spores?

You can always try 'em again and see what happens. Multispore inoculation often gives weird results. Mushies are funny.

They sorta' look like pan cyans... or mexicana... but I really doubt they are. Those strains don't like the PF Tek.

This is what PE traditionally looks like.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I'm not sure what to do with them right now, so I guess I'll just keep an eye on them and maybe post some more pictures as they develop.

Cervantes: I guess technically this was my third grow; I grew 10 cakes of GT just over a year ago, then I innoculated 5 and 5 of b+ and (what I thought was) PE early this summer. 1 B+ cake produced three flushes worth of fruit (weakly) before this cake began pinning. It's been 2-3 weeks since then, and the growth is very slow. A second cake from the supposed PE line is now looking to begin fruiting, although it never colonized beyond about 75%. I posted because I was worried that the slow colonization time was indicative of contamination, but it looks like some sort of mushie is growing. Now I'm just worried that they might be deadly. Thanks for you input and for any help from anyone.

tronk
