man it could be a lot of things. probably you'll just have to wait. it's also possible that your cake isn't fully colonized in the inside of it, lacking the enough nutrients for fruiting. also check the temps. if I were you, next time I would try "in vitro" tek and see the little bastards growing inside the jar(where the hum is perfect).

My first batch was exactly like that. I was panicing but it worked. You'r next will be better. Mine was. And definitely do Invtro. No matter what strain you have. It helped my little buddies flush quicker out of the gate and according to PF these Treasure Coasts don't do the invitro thing.(Wrong!)

First thing I need to know is did you initiate all your pinning triggers at the same time? Temp drop (roughly 10 degrees), introduce light (12-16hrs.) and FAE (fresh air exchange) fannings? With that answered "yes" we can give you the "patience is a virtue" answer but in not then ya need to get your self a pinning strategy! GL

Does a cake really have to be 100% colonized before pinning will take place? If so then what's "premature pinning"?

It is a 100% colonized as far as I know what is a sure way of knowing it is a 100% and I didn't introduce light because I didn't think I had too. And I have a small fan for the fresh air everything likes good just don't know why it's not working thanks for the help.

introduce light. i dont think you need to worry about premature pinning if you're growing off of cakes. premature pinning is an issue with casings i imagine?????. put on some latex gloves clean 'em up with some alcohol remove the cakes from your fruiting chamber and "dunk" them for 24 hours in water. i use water straight from my bathtub faucet with a bit of peroxide. tap water has chlorine in it. not enough to kill your cakes but enough that i feel its safe to use for submerging pf cakes. make damn sure that all of the cakes you dunk together are healthy cuz if even one is bad it could spread to the rest so be clean about everything. after 24 hours birth the cakes back into the fruiting chamber and give them 12 - 12 light and fresh air like normal. i actually only keep my lights on for 8- 10 hours at a time. if you have any more questions pm me.

When the substrate looks completely covered in mycelium, wait one more week for the inside to completely colonize.
