question about colinizing...
    #3055978 - 08/27/04 12:35 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

when a cake is fully colinized, is there mycelium inside of it or is it jsut regular brf/verm inside if you were cut it in half? also, after brf/verm sits at room temp in a jar for a month + why doesnt it start to decompose like anything else would?

A fully colonized cake has mycelium throughout.

yes there is mycelium inside the cake.

things only decompose when dead. if/when your cake dies it will decompose.

Depending on how you innoculated it 1 center hole vs. 4 perimeter holes. The first will mean yes it's 100% but the latter will take several more days after the outside (visible surface) is colonized. Thats the way it has always been IME anyway! GL
