That's New York's penalty for marijuana. Note that those are the MAXIUM penalties.
Mushrooms are more confusing. Couldn't find too much information.
That really sucks. I hate our current laws. Just have him try to find the best lawyer he can.

My guess is 5 to 15 years in prison for that amount. since the amount is so big he probably will be charged for dealing as well as possesion. good lawyer defently.

actually I was under the impression mushies were schedule 2, which wouldn't make the penalty as stiff as pot right?
Ok I take that back I looked it up and it's schedule 1 because psilocybin is schedule one. Not a good situation man...how'd he get busted?

If I was in that situation, I would be completely torn. What would decide me is how many years I would be facing.
My instinct would be to run, but at the same time, shit like that can follow you around no matter where you go. I don't know.

Fuck that! five years in prison is crazy. Shit i would pack my stuff and run.
I did a 3 month stretch as a punk kid for assault and even though it was a country club type prison it sure wasn't funny. Cant even imagine a federal prison in the US
