Is one of the main functions of having the correct amount of moisture in your WBS while PCing, is to fully sterialize the bird seed? To dry and it will not effectively sterilize it?

I do not think it is, due to the fact that all items in the PC will reach a temp. of 250 or above. If done correctly. But I am not 100% on my assumption.

shit, WTF are you doing up u should go back to sleep. I will simplify it, does the amount of water in your wbs effect the sterlization process. Or am I just trippin?

No not really, it doesn't effect it.

The most important thing about the water is to provide water to the fungus growing on it. Without it, its not really going to go anywhere.

Too much water in the WBS is more problematic than too little.

And yeah, that first post confused the hell out of me too. Thanks for simplifying it.

In just about every case it is better to have less water than too much (even when working with dung, grains, BRF/Verm, ect). However obviously you want the "right" amount.

If you pre-steep your seed for 30-45 mins then it will be at full moisture content and you can just load it up already soaked into the jars for sterilization. This is about the best way to make sure your water ratio is correct.

I totally agree get the moisture content correct, too little or too much is not something you want to make a habit of! Neither will serve your purpose  Getting moisture content right is part of the art of growing and also what makes the difference between a newbie and a pro. GL
