Saturated jars in the PC
    #3050422 - 08/25/04 10:32 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Everytime I pc 24 jars, the bottem 8 jars tend to get saturated with moisture... should I tape up the jars before putting them in there or just lower the water level?

You should wrap each jar with foil. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

And I put a big piece of foil over the entire lower level of jars

Don't tape the holes up they need to release pressure in the PC

I put tin foil on the top of each jar. Its about a 6 inch square piece. So I dont think thats the problem.

What level should the water be at compared to the jar. Also, is it nessicary to put a rag at the bottem of the PC to keep the jars from touching the metal?

I put two butter knifes in the bottom of PC then put a dinner plate ontop of those. and then the jars. The jars must not touch the bottom of PC

The water should be about 1/3 the way up jars or less anymore and water will splash up ontop of jars under foil.Which is most likly your problem

Mabey you have too much water.
