Todays walk through the Weilii n bolette patch
    #3049725 - 08/25/04 07:50 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Well, what was leftover from my last Weilii pick was completely destroyed by todays heavy Cherokee County downpour. The rain turned what was left to mush. Hopefully well see a nice dry, and a temperature drop and the season will kick off in full effect.

Tons and tons of beautiful big bolettes around, I mustve walked through about 100.

Any boletus lovers?

Yes I do. On the condition of a temperature drop, and not too much direct sunlight.

As far as drinking coffee, I dont think so. Not til Fall.

gotcha, yea I've been seeing alot of bolletes out, the first time I encountered them I thought they were active since they bruised just like an EXTREMELY potent active.

Haha i know a kid that ate one of those blue staining boletes . . . that must have been torture for him, cuz they dont look too apetizing. Not to get off topic or anything but I had a question and didnt think it was worth makin a new thread. I live very close to cherokee and I recently found the perfect habitat for weilii, red clay topped with that pine. I found a trail that seemed neverending. Is it even worth going to this place or should i stick to driving around looking in peoples grass in the sub-divisions. Have the people that found weilii lately found them in bermuda or the the woodland type of area where I have recently discovered? Any comments on that would be appreciated . . .

Keep alot of that in the PMs man, giving locations away aint cool.

You need to save the trails for fall unless you got a patch, I would wait on the hoods too.

Look for office parks this early and nice bermuda golf courses.
