Bush's Campaign Promises are Meaningless
    #3048338 - 08/25/04 11:31 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

We had four years to see how Bush faired in keeping his campaign promises and those he made while in office and the record is very poor.

Here is sample list of standard defenses:

"Gee Swami, don't all politicians renege?"

"I only watch Fox "News" so I haven't a clue what you are talking about."

"I don't care, I will vote for him anyway."

"He meant what he said, but Congress stymied him. He is only one man, ya know?"

"What about Clinton?"

"THIS time he will keep his word."

Yeah, maybe this time...

Kerry and Bush will both lie between their teeth to win the election. Trust no one

As per usual, no response to the topic. (Way more than five times!)

''A promise made is a promise kept.'' George W. Bush

Do you believe that he has kept his 2000 campaign promises?

Here, I will help you with the appropriate reponses so you don't stray:

Yes.

No.

I am not sure.

Swami, out of curiosity, do you plan on or have you in the past revealed your personal political leanings? You're really preaching to the choire here with the anti-Bush posts. There are maybe, MAYBE, two regulars here who have stated intent to vote for Bush this November and only a handful who, for assorted reasons, will not vote for him but find Bush immensely superior to Kerry. So in the interest of vibrant discussion, where does the great Swami stand politically?

I think if you are going to make subject of your post about Bush's broken campaign promises you should at least provide some examples. And if you want to criticize Bush further you should explain why such changes in Bush's policy are a result of bad leadership rather than circumstances.
