Disappointing First San Pedro Attempt, What Happened?
    #3049164 - 08/25/04 05:48 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Well as said in my other post, i tried san pedro for the first time and it was pretty disappointing from what ive read. I blend up 10 feet of coreless san pedro, boiled with lemon juice for 1 hour and 40 minutes, strained, reboiled, strained and got about six liters. last night i drank about a liter, my friends each took about .7 liters. I felt a very mild head change, like very weak acid. what happened. i have loads of san pedro growing at my house and would like to make use of it. but all the work i put in for basically nothing was disappointing. I have about 3 to 3.5 liters left sitting in the freezer but don't want to waste my time drinking it if nothing worthwhile will happen. any suggestions? thanks

I have read alot of posts where people fail to get a dose from fresh cactus. I don't think I have ever heard of dried Pedro or Peruvian Torch not working. I would suggest buying some dried Peruvian Torch, grinding it and and boiling it. That seems to work alot more.

Now, if you have to drink several litters of the stuff it probobly means that a)you have weak cactus, b) it's not San Pedro, or c) you need to boil it down more. 1 liter of cactus juice is ridiculous, most of it is probobly water so your dose was not very concentrated.

10 feet of pedro is way way to much. the standard dose is 1 foot by 3ish inches thick. if your ingesting 10 feet and got no effects then there is something wrong. that should have severly fucked with you, in fact i would call that very dangerous.

go to "my home" and look for your gallery. then upload.

If you read closer you will see that he only consumed about 1/6th of that amount, 1 liter which would be 1.6ft of cactus or 17 inches.

I may take a little work and mabey a failure or two but if you go to www.erowid.com
And look under MESCALINE you will find an extraction method which takes the Pure Mesc out. You end up with pure Mesc sulfate.

I am not good enough on the computer to give you a link
If you find a method that uses sufric acid then you found it.

My uncle makes about 2 oz of mesc sulfalte every year from this method

It works very very well and puts all boiling Teks to the grave

We get the real deal trip

Isn't making the crystals a long difficult process that involves a bunch of chemicals that need to be bought. Im trying to stick with one of the simpler methods.

Ther eis a 32 photo pictorial with instructions for the preparation of San Pedro cacti right int he Ethnobotanical Garden Forum here at the shroomery.

It works every time.

And byt the wqay, A san pedro lying on a table a foot and a half long can live fpor two to three years without any water being added to it. I left one lying for months and it grew a few inches. NEver planted it at all.

Anyway, Some people by cereus which is not the same as trichocereus pachanoi. IT is a different genera and then wonder why they never get off.

And oit takes nmopre than an hour to boil a cactus. One foot per one to two gallons of water for 2 to five hours.

An 8 quart oppt can only hole about three pounds of the cactus and then there is no room to boil anything. IT wold all overflow over the top of the pot.

Read my post and see t how it should be f done.

mj

Others here have had great succes.
