Is there a program out there in which one could use to time when his/her computer fan would turn on and off??? (this will be for growing marijuana purposes by the way).

Are you trying to use the fan for cooling the computer at the same time?

you could get a normal timer. and buy a 120V fan and jsut slap a old plug cord on teh end. and then plug it into the wall.

no, this would be an extra external fan. i was told by a friend of mine that there where programs out there in which i could do this, that way making aeroponics completly automated and much more precise.

I've heard of people using computer fans externally, along with some sort of program they used to automate the fan to switch on and off at certain times. This was for a drying chamber for mushrooms though.

speedfan but I don't think you can time it to go on and off. http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
Abit motherboards with uguru have software with them to control fans as well but again I don't know if you can have it timed when you want it.

Dude, just get a 12V adapter deal that plugs into the wall and wire two of the 80mm fans onto each one, just use a regular dial type timer for um, you don't need any program just for the simple process of shutting them on and off, unless you are trying to correlate temps or co2 levels with the fans.

If you're into electronics, it wouldn't be too complicated to rig up a circuit that could be controlled by a serial port to turn a fan on and off, but a cheaper and easier method would be to just get a timer that plugs into an electric socket that could turn the fan on for a period of time each day.
