Thanks for the help guys!

I'm starting over, it just isn't worth the risk of wasting my two syringes on substrate that is probably mediocre at best.

So do I just test the moisture content by feel?

I'm thinking that the Ramsey seal couldn't have contained the water.

So if they are bone dry, do I just dump the contents of the jars into a mixing bowl and add the same amount of water? I will be hard pressed to get replacement verm...

Also, I have this vermiculite subsitute. It's supposed to be made of ceramic fiber. Will this stuff work, you think? I'm thinking it will be too different from real verm, but hey, anybody with experience with this stuff? I think it's made by Shultz.

u know what? u should just dump it all back out then add water and reserilize, this won't hurt it, be better to do this than put spores in them and find out it was a waste, don't know about your other question but you should just expeiment with it say maybe make up a couple of extra jars and go with it and see if it works, with your jars of verm next to it u will be able to tell just how good it does work compared to the verm...

I would be concerned that once the water cooked out, the temps in the jars would increase to 'saute' temps and wreck the substrate. I, however, have no personal experience to back up this idea.

Sounds like they got baked! I'd be inclined to start fresh.

You can get verm. from the SporeLab.
