What are your dreams for the future?
    #3038392 - 08/23/04 01:18 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I have found that having a dream and goal in life can be painful when you have to destroy it, and that sometimes it?s natural to stop dreaming afterwards, like a person who?s been through a painful breakup who doesn?t want to love again so they don?t get hurt.

But then you don?t get to live with a dream, and life isn?t much fun without it! I think having a dream can be a positive thing and helps to improve your outlook in day to day life. So why not list our dreams?

I?m currently in school studying psychology, and my dream is to be a psychiatrist, although I have to also be realistic and being a psychologist wouldn?t be too bad either. I?d really love to do work with psychedelics in helping people to understand themselves, because, as I?m sure everyone here is aware of, they have that ability.

I?d also love to record and perform the music I?ve been writing. While I wouldn?t complain if it turned out to be a huge rock band, it really doesn?t matter that much at this point. My goal was simply to be able to do it for a living, but given that the music industry is a bitch, all I care about now is being able to be creative as possible and do it simply for the love of it. It makes it a lot easier now that I don?t have to do it for money cause I don?t have to succeed at all as long as I?m enjoying it. I just don?t quite have the money enough for the equipment, but I should be able to get by.

I?d also love to delve more into psychedelics as a philosophy/spiritual thing. Not that I haven?t already done that, I?d just like to be able to do more[/I] of it, hehe.

I?d also like to be married at some point, but I figure it?s best not to project what I?d want in a wife because people aren?t supposed to live up to some kind of expectation.

Aside from that, all I really ask for is the freedom to be able to explore my mind and enjoy life. Pretty simple really. So what are your dreams for the future? What would you like to see come true?

--------------------
The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

Dreams for the future?

Oh I dream of music theory, teaching, wandering, exploring, double bass, glass blowing, singing, singing all day, cosmic consciousness, remembering, learning to remember, travel, and I am living these dreams each day.

Music, art, literature, psychedelics, conversation, imagination!

--------------------
A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.

When you are spiralsing through now, it is hard to keep ambitions fluent. There are many, yet every changing, transcendental! At all costs.

Neat post . I hear'ya, who wouldnt? :sun:. My life goal is trying to take control of what I can and hopefully help out others in the process. Im still pretty young and I think that having goals doesnt let you as easily run in frustrating circles trying to decide what to do with your life. That seemed to be my biggest dilema that caused my suffering over the long run.

Once I had a goal set I could compare the rest of my current life to my goal and subconsciously make myself feel good or even negative if I dont put the effort into obtaining my goals.

Take it from me, I'm just beinging to do those things and it's very rewarding. Learning and taking control of who you are is really exciting, and so is putting it to use.

BTW, when I finish recording I'll post my stuff for people to sample/download. It'll be a little while though.

my dream is to be able to learn from as many different people as possible.  this world is huge and I want to travel it and see many cultures and people that are in it.  I want to see what the big fuss is about .

I really don't have huge expectations, I mean there's is the job that I want and all that jazz, but I feel I'm going to measure my worth by more than my job.

it's awesome that you have a set goal, now go for it!

"I?d also like to be married at some point, but I figure it?s best not to project what I?d want in a wife because people aren?t supposed to live up to some kind of expectation."

indeed, finding a woman that will accept me for who I am, and for me to do the exact same thing would be be a wonderful to experience. like it's better to be the right person than go out looking for the right person

if feel just as you do that your reality is what you make of it, and if you try hard enough, your dream will manifest

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Meh, my dreams are a bit more modest than most, I suppose. I'd just like to have a place to call my own, good friends and to maybe help out some people along the way.

One day Kaiowas, in our seperate sojourns of wondering and wandering, we will meet.  Destined yet unexpected.

All I really want to do is find something that I can enjoy. Once I find that one thing that I truely enjoy and love, I will feel utterly complete.

I just wish I had some clue as to what it was.

hey kaiowas I agree with you about the job mentality, if it doesnt work out I'll just find a new direction in life, I feel no reason to be hard on yourself if things dont work out

the idea is to atleast try

lol barts quote: "I cant promise I'll try, but I'll try to try"

Living without any dreams to fulfill can be depressing. I'm pretty content as is, but 'career' wise I'm working to get some of my music signed to a record label. I don't really care about the money as long as I can successfully produce good music.

I'd also like to try out one of those long-term sexual relationship things (not marriage though... oh the horrors...). I've been single nearly all my life, but recently my curiosity for this love and romance stuff has got me going. I wanna see what all the fuss is about.  :smirk:

My motto:

If you really want something, and you keep on it.
You will get it one day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to make music for people who enjoy my music.
So that I may enjoy them as they enjoy something that came from me.
And earn enough cash to have a peaceful live instead of the flaming hell I experience now.

Then..

I want to get real old and think, I wonder if there are kids around who think what I used to think about old people. Then I would enjoy seeing and dying.

I'm weird, and very tired.  :sleepingcow:
