2012 Summer Olympics

Let's just say, for the sake of this post, that 2012 does turn out to be the turning point in humankind's history.  Where would be a worthy place on the planet to celebrate the games that year?  I'd be inclined to say Greece but they did it two Olympics too soon.  :tongue:  Maybe somewhere in Africa cause that's where humanity began.  I dunno if there's any African cities with sufficient facilities.  What do you think?

i would say somewhere that has been politicly unstable or troublsome to world peace such as the middle east, this way uniting the world in a place that has been so divided would be poeticly beautifull

Yer probably right. I thought of another that'd be good though is somewhere near where the Mayan civilization was cause they were the main proponents of 2012 theory. I think they did Mexico City in 1968 so maybe enough time's passed to do it again.

According to John Titor (self proclaimed time traveller), this is what he had to say about the Olympics after being asked by someone:

As a result of the many conflicts, no, there were no official Olympics after 2004. However, it appears they may be revived in 2040.

Seems 'fitting', they started in Athens and will end in Athens... hehehe  :crazy2:

Why the hell would we want an olympics near where the Mayan civilizations were? Olympic cames would fuck the area up...way too many people etc.

I don't see why people think the olympics are such a big deal. I mean yeah its a big media event, and people like media, but still I find it strange that so many people who normally have no interest in sport can get so excited over the olympics. Maybe its a national pride thing. Personally I find them boring.

Having said that, I guess a games in 2012 could have some part to play if there was some kind of shift in human consciousness around that time, given that theres so many people focused on one event which is the kind of thing I think 2012 would involve among other aspects.
