A Sudden Fear of Flying.
    #3036872 - 08/22/04 05:01 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

Hey guys,

Been a crazy few days with little time to browse the shroomery but now I'm at my mother's house, she's out, I'm puffin' some bud, and thinking about my trip I'm taking tomorrow...Italy for 8 days, Bologna and Milan to be exact.  My sister just got an apartment in the former city and we're gonna visit the latter and prowl around for hashish and nug together, good brothersister bonding time.
Anyway, the whole terrorist never ever got to me until now.  I lived in a dorm about 25 blocks away from the WTC and even when that hapepned I refused to go home, cause if you let them scare you, they win, right?  And I've flown a bunch of times since that event three years ago, without a trace of fear.
But now, I'm all freaked out.  Especially since my flight back lands in JFK during the second day of the Republican National Convention.  So it should be more secure than ever there, but still. I'm really nervous, and it sucks!  My girlfriend isn't coming with me, either, it was too short notice and too expensive with her, and it's gonna be killer not having someone familiar there with me, just like on a psychedelic journey...
At least I can be mellow now with the help of these beasters, a bowl, and a lighter.

I can't wait to get there, and then get back..it's the transportation I'm wary about...yeah man MMW at Beacon Theater! Should be a crazy night, I'm gonna try and get tickets...I've only seen them once - saw the two guys in front of me dose, too, and watched them obviously have a completely spiritual experience, it was great.

THanks for the encouraging words, I do just need to RELAX!

dude that's awesome.

My gf at the time couldn't come with me to ohio gathering when I flew over, so I know what you mean.  just toke up before getting on the plane, smash on some good tunes and stare out the window.

that or striking up a conversation with the person next to you doesn't hurt.

talking to stragners is great sometimes especially when they get all nervous like "is this weirdo talking to me for no reason?"

of course don't be rude, but the time really goes by when you just meet random people and know that' you'll never see em again hehe

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Good advice, kaiowas, cause andom people are definitely one of the joys of life!
Though, one time I got stuck sitting next to an old woman on a plane who smelled like tuna and read the bible from takeoff to landing - and the guy on the other side of me was on his palm pilot the whole time, and she leaned over me (blech) at one point to start asking him "is this how small computers are today? amazing!"
