"these are the cactus"
    #3035835 - 08/22/04 09:45 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

yesterday my friends found some cactus  :grin:they tried it and its  active . :smile:he bringed some others here and wants to learn a bit about a storage tek. :frown:i searched a little and found "in the dark for a week shouldn't hurt a thing".
As he said he took off one cacti from its roots and cut some others (i don t know  in width or lenghtwise?).
we want to make lots of cactus from these cactus.i do not know in which way but maybe from  a rooting or a grafting method.?
i will start to search soon.
and all i need is some links and replies about is it ok to  left them in dark for rooting or grafting or whatever  while  we learn how to grow .

What species is it? If it peyote, you did a bad thing, it's an indangered species in the nature... Well, if it's a trichocereus, just let the "cut" callouse for a week or 2 until it's hard. Then burry about 6-7 cm in some cactus soil, leave it in indirect sunlight for about 1-2 weeks, without watering, until you start to see some new growth, get it used to the sunlight before leaving it in a sunny location, water every 2-3 weeks in the growing season (spring to fall), and from fall to spring leave it inside, behind a sunny window without watering... let it grow, let it grow, make more cuttings, repeat, repeat, repeat, etc!

it is not a pedro, its an echinopsis peruviana.
extract the bad karma? i don't think that is possible by boiling tha cactus, perhaps if you let it grow and stop stealing you'll be doing the best.

good old harvey...

shame on me? why? 'Echinopsis peruviana' IS the actual current accepted taxonomical nomenclature for that cactus... or do you have any references to prove the opposite?
you gotta know what you're talking about...
shame on you pal... sorry!
