I read somewhere that psilocybin has been isolated in hygrocybe psittacina, the mushroom with the bright green cap and the yellow stalk, while my guide makes no mention of it. What my guide DOES say though is to be careful of the genus because there are mushrooms within that bruise black and are said to be "poisonous." Any ideas MJ or anyone else?

I am also partly writing because I think that Ramone's mushroom is a hygrocybe with its waxy appearance and bright colors.

I am not sure where I read about the parrot mushroom being active.

This appears to be the source of the poisoning confusion in the genus, though. Who wants to try (for at least fifty years or so)a mushroom that people are said to have died from eating?

I was also curious if the brightly colored witch's hats have any activity to them. It just looks like a specialty of some sort. I think that's hygrocybe.
Any info?
